DCM - Sparkle and Bling

This week its Jozza's turn for the Dare and as its Fireworks week here in the UK she has gone all sparkly - so the brief was lots of bling!!

Here's my effort, it's a gatefold card but scanned so it looks a little flat

I made this for my niece who recently passed her driving test
Stamping Bella image and sketch 12 from Taylored Expressions

I made this for my dad earlier this month
I thought I'd get a telling off for what I put on it but I think I got away with it ;-)

Charlotte's B'day Card

It was Charlotte's birthday earlier this week and as ever I made her card at the last minute so I used this weeks sketch from 2 sketches for you
Here's what I made, it's a terrible scan - our camera's not working :-( the paper on the right matches the hearts on the left but the raised flowers have distorted itThis image is Charlotte to a tee, she loves riding her scooter to School

2 Sketches 4 You

Here's this weeks sketch on 2 Sketches 4 You
And here's my take on it (excuse the bad photo but I was trying to avoid hubby sticking his foot in to give a sense of scale)!!

It nearly qualified for the challenge on Sarah's Cards blog to make a card using 3 patterned papers, 2 Aunty Sarah's Bloomers and 1 ribbon from a card kit. Will have to make another soon with 2 Aunty Sarah's Bloomers instead of 1!!

I was lucky enough to win some gorgeous American Crafts papers and thickers from Sarah's Cards which postie delivered yesterday - thanks Sarah

What with this, some dies that I bought from a couple of people on the cbc forum and a Stampin' Up catalogue I rec'd from Rachel I think my postie deserves a week off!!

Chinese Whisper

I've been playing chinese whisper on the cbc forum. This is how it works
I will email a template to the first person on the list and they will make a card like the normal template challenge. They will then email an image of that card to the next person in the group and send me a copy at the same time, no one else will see. They will then make a card using this card as the template Then they email the image to the next person and so on.

This is the card I made for the most recent round
Papers and ribbons part of a kit from Sarah's Cards and the bird is a die cut.

This is one I made a month or so ago and forgot to blog!

Not too sure where the papers came from for this one - it's a double-sided sheet that I got fro m a swap.

DCM - Golden Oldies

It was hubby's b'day earlier this week & i made this for him the night before during the adverts of a tv programme we were watching!! It also qualifies for this weeks dcm dare of golden oldies (the die cuts had been cut out about 2 years ago but never used)
NOW ! - on to this weeks dare - we have a team dare this week, and we were thinking.....with so many new things /latest papers/ trendy stuff constantly coming on the market, we thought it would be nice to have a look back, and dig out some of our 'old' papers and embellishments and make a card with our 'preloved' treasures. I think the tendency these days is to get on the 'latest must have' band wagon, sometimes, its nice to recognise what we already have- even if it isn't the 'latest' embellishment/paper.

DCM Spot The Difference

I had to make a quick birthday card last night and managed to use this weeks dcm dare.

Hi, it's Rhi here this week to dare you, and it's...Journalling spots. They're used all the time in scrapbooking where it's extra personal to read someone's words and memories in their own hand. Use a journalling spot, be it stamped, premade, handcut, digital or doodled, to frame your handwritten message on your card. Have a look at the cards we've made, then share your creations by leaving a link, I dare you!
Stamp is from Sassy Crafts and papers are from one of my Sarahs Cards kits

Sassy Crafts Dovecraft Competition

Sassy Crafts Competition
Your challenge is to make a craft project (it can be a card, LO or anything else you fancy) using at least 3 Dovecraft products. Now this will be real easy as they make papers, brads, eyelets, stamps and many many more.
Here's my entry, it's a really c**p scan, the pp that I've used for the squares is a much richer colour but where the snowflakes are raised they look washed out.

I used 3 different papers from Dovecrafts Christmas Blues pack, Neon alphabet and Cuttlebug snowflakes.

It's also a cardlift from http://justbex.co.uk/

Please don't think I'm really organised as it's a Christmas card, I'll probably make the rest on Xmas eve!!

Get Stuck in

On the Just Bex forum http://justbex.co.uk/phpBB2/index.php we were challenged to use some of our new stash!!

Now there's no excuses for most of you for this challenge Lots of you have been mentioning having this weekend off and soooooo many of you have been boasting on here about all the new stash you've been buying lately So this challenge should be quite simple really, although maybe not for some of you paper strokers.........you know who you are !!!! Simply make anything, but it has to be using your most recent stash.....that means cutting into those new papers girlsNow there's no excuses for most of you for this challenge

Here's what I came up with, the stamp is a Crafty Individuals which came from http://www.creativetreasures.co.uk/ and the paper is Basic Grey's Infuse that I bought from a craft shop on Saturday

Had a lovely weekend, met up with a friend and her son & we were all blown along the seafront at Millford which gave us a good excuse for hot chocolate and chips afterwards!!

Charlotte was invited to a friends party on Sunday at a playcentre so we bought Jamie a ticket & he played too - the only downside was that it started at 10am and was half an hours drive away, not good for the morning that the clocks go forward!!

Saturday, 29 March 2008

Chinese Whisper

I joined in the Chinese Whisper on www.craftsbycarolyn.co.uk/phpBB2/ and this is what I came up with

Papers are the English Paper Company, blooms from Whs Smith and I used the negative cut from Ellison's Neon alphabet.
